ROOTED IN HERBS

12-WEEK HERBAL APPRENTICESHIP

Begins June 17th

"Before the time of prescription medicines, healing lived in the hands of ordinary people".

Somewhere beneath the noise of modern life lives an older remembering - a quieter, wiser way of caring for yourself that once existed in every home, every kitchen, every garden.

Herbalism is more than remedies and recipes; it is the art of returning to relationship: with the plants, with the rhythms of the natural world, and with your own intuition.

This 12-week journey is an invitation to step back into the grounded, empowering wisdom of plant medicine - learning not only how to heal with herbs, but how to rediscover your connection to them.

A Journey into Plant Medicine, Healing & Herbal Wisdom

Imagine being able to walk through woodland or garden and recognise the healing allies growing around you.

To know which herbs calm anxiety, support immunity, soothe inflammation, ease digestion, balance hormones, and restore vitality - and how to prepare them safely and effectively at home.

NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Nic, (The Astroherbalist)

Herbalism first entered my life not simply as a subject to study, but as a reconnection to something bigger.

After years spent working in Marketing and feeling a sense of dread kicking in on every morning commute, something finally had to give - and it was my own wellbeing.

So what began as a slow, personal healing journey gradually became a lifelong devotion to the wisdom of medicinal plants, holistic wellbeing, and the ancient relationship between us and the natural world.

Over the  last 10 years, I have immersed myself in the study of herbal medicine, exploring both the practical foundations of medical herbalism and the more intuitive, spiritual traditions that honour plants as allies, teachers, and living medicine.

Now as a practicing clinical herbalist, my approach brings together grounded herbal knowledge with a deep respect for the emotional, energetic, and spiritual dimensions of healing.

I believe herbalism should feel both accessible and empowering - not overwhelming, intimidating, or disconnected from real life. My work combines Western herbalism, elements  of Ayurveda, and spiritual plant practice.

Through this course, my intention is not only to teach you how to work safely and confidently with herbs, but to help you cultivate a deeper sense of trust in your own intuition, your body, and your relationship with nature.

Whether you are completely new to herbalism or standing at the threshold of a deeper calling, you are warmly welcome here.

FAQ

  • Yes - that is one of the core intentions of the course. By the end of the 12 weeks, you will understand foundational herbal principles, know how to make a variety of remedies safely at home, and feel far more confident supporting your wellbeing naturally.

  • You do not need to live in the countryside to study herbalism. Many of the herbs explored in this course are easy to source online, grow at home, or find in local shops and gardens. Herbalism begins with relationship and understanding, not location.

  • This course is designed to give you a strong and inspiring foundation in both practical and spiritual herbalism, helping you build confidence using herbs safely and effectively at home. While you will gain valuable knowledge, hands-on skills, and a deep understanding of holistic plant medicine, this programme is not a formal clinical qualification and does not certify you to practise as a licensed medical herbalist. Instead, it is intended as a foundational apprenticeship for home herbalists, wellness seekers, and those feeling called to begin their journey with plant medicine - whether for personal use, family care, or as the first step toward deeper professional study.

"Having taken several herbal courses with Nic, I can assure you that you’re about to have your mind blown"

- A. Driscoll. Cardiff

"There was something incredibly calming and nourishing about the way this was taught.

It didn’t feel rushed or performative - it felt like being gently guided.

I came away with practical skills, but also with a completely different relationship to plants and healing."

- J. Maynard, Newport

“Before this course, I relied on shop-bought remedies without really understanding herbs at all. Now I make my own teas, tinctures, and salves, and I’ve become much more mindful about how I support my health. The course gave me practical confidence rather than just information.”

- M. Jones, Reading
